A project exploring the collection of the Horniman Museum looking at the theme of animism. Working with community members, hospice patients, bereaved family members, primary school children we created a large-scale public performance work. The mantle was created through dry felting over four months. The mask head was created with willow, shells, beads and collage. The performance created a storyline with a folk song about journeys to the unknown – understanding that the journey is the destination.
